We've not seen the last of the criminals who compromised Valves servers and distributed the source code to the game and the engine late last week, it seems. It now appears as if actual game content, including model resources, and reportedly texture and map assets we well, have been stolen and posted for the public. Valve have not officially confirmed or denied these rumours, but I have seen a few of the screen shots floating around and they look very genuine indeed.
To top off a wonderful week days for Valve, it now appears as if the game has been delayed a second time, until April 2004. That information comes from someone very high up in the Vivendi chain of command, but importantly it was not an official press release. Instead it was a quote made to a French news paper. I'll update this post as further information comes in. |

Look on the bright side, we always have Doom 3 to look forward to :) |

pfft, just release it anyway. im sick of valves bullshit contradictions. |
is that because they released a fps that's yet to be bested on the PC 6 years after its release or because they're about to best it themselves? |
If they are to best their own game, they have to release something... If this goes on, i'm an old man by the time it get's out... those guys who hacked them seems to be better at distribute it than valve ;-) |
Thats because the guys that stole the source/content, are distrubuting an VERY UNFINISHED game perhaps? |
I just wish valve would stop following the american tradition of LYING THEIR ASSES OFF and admit to the public the truth. Not this release what ppl want to hear shit, or this release 4 contradictory rurmours throught the community crap. |
