In this thread on the UT2K3/UT2K4 forum at Atari, it has been announced that Unreal Tournament 2004 Special Edition will come with over 70 hours of video to training how to develop mods for the game, including info on Level Design, Matinee, Scripting, Mutators, Weapon Design, as well as many videos on Maya related to UT2K4. The UT2K3/UT2K4 mod community have had training videos available for a while, so Epic Games was able to contact the creators (BuZZ, Derek, Zak, Logan, and Joel) and have them produce more of footage for UT2K4.
This immediate availability of so much material upon buying the game seems like it would benefit the mod community greatly. It would be great if other modifiable games (Half-Life 2/Doom 3) follow suit. |
