Maybe it's a cycle Wavelength goes through - maybe its a cycle ALL sites that are run in peoples spare time goes through. I don't know. At any rate things have gotten very quiet around here both on the article submission side and the general staff level side. It doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon either. That isn't to say Wavelength is going to shut down anytime soon. As long as I can afford to pay the bills TWL will be here! If I ever actually get any spare time maybe I'll get around to the program the fully automated community system I've always imagined. Perhaps. With the new official Valve wiki there isn't much point to a site like Wavelength anymore...
Ay any rate, for now the only place you will find much in the way of activity here are the forums. |

I hope WL won´t disappear !!. Even with it´s failures It´s agood site where to find useful Info and found enough information to make a Mod succesfully ( and other interesting things ,of course).
Maybe a "Newbie corner" could be useful too; a place where administrators culd re-direct those questions so basic for not being included in other more advanced forums, this could encourage non experienced people to write here and keep the WL site a bit more alive. Perhaps I´m wrong but, sometimes, if a newb ( like me ) read some topics where a starter coder is called "retarded" or such things , this person won´t write his/her question.
I know it´s a mistake to come to a Formum of programming if you don´t know even the basics, but, sometimes, overall if you´re a new, what is wanted is a kind of "what part of the code I need to change to make the MP5 fire a laser beam instead a bullet", so a place where other news share their knowledge with the proper aid of an expert with time and will could be agood "MOD Starter School".Edited by MIFUNE on Jun 05 2006, 04:53:37

It has been an exceedingly long time since I've posted here. If it comes down to it, I'll pitch in my buck 'o five to keep The Wavelength alive. Viva la Bulk. |
